Common use

Yasmin contains Drospirenone (a synthetic hormone progestin) and Ethinyl Estradiol and is used as a preventive drug to avoid pregnancy. It interferes with a woman’s menstrual cycle and tricks the body as if ovulation has taken place even if it has not. So a ripened egg is not released by the ovaries. The drug changes condition of cervical mucus and uterine lining and hampers movement of sperm cells to the uterus and attachment of a fertilized egg to the uterus.

Dosage and direction

Start treatment on the very first day of your menstrual cycle and then take one pill daily. If you missed a daily dose, take two pills as a single dose. Risk of your pregnancy increases if you miss more than one dose. Do not take other contraceptive pill concomitantly with Yasmin to avoid serious hormonal imbalance. Each pill contains 3.0 mg of drospirenone and 0.030 mg of ethinyl estradiol, while 7 ‘inactive’ pills do not contain the hormones.

Precautions

Additional birth control methods (condoms or a spermicide) may be required when you start to use Yasmin.
Intake of hormones may increase the risk of blood clotting, heart attack, stroke, especially in the patients over 35 y.o. or smokers. Inform your doctor if you have problems with heart, blood pressure, congestive heart failure, angina, high cholesterol, depression in history, seizures or epilepsy, diabetes, gallbladder disease, varicose veins, tuberculosis, uterine fibroid tumors, a history of fibrocystic breast disease, nodules, lumps.

Contraindications

  This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to the medication, undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding, breast cancer (known, suspected, or in history), known or suspected estrogen-dependent neoplasia, blood clots, myocardial infarction, pregnancy, breastfeeding, problems with liver, plague. The medication cannot be used in the girls who have not yet had their first menstrual period.

Possible side effect

Yasmin may increase potassium levels in some individuals, thus, women with kidney disease, liver bug, or adrenal disease should not be treated by it. Also some women may develop nausea, vomiting, weight gain, headaches, palpitations, fainting or dizziness, breast tenderness and enlargement, changes in the menstrual cycle, vaginal thrush, water retention in the body. More serious but rare  reactions include increase in blood pressure, depression, liver disorders and blood clots in vessels.

Drug interaction

There are drugs which can interact with Yasmin. Inform your doctor about all prescribed and over-the counter medications, herbal products and food supplements you use and especially about theophylline (Respbid, Theo-Dur), acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ascorbic acid (vitamin C), prednisolone (Orapred), St. John’s wort, seizure medications, cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune), a barbiturate sedatives, HIV or AIDS medications, and antibiotics.

Missed dose

If you missed a pill risk of becoming pregnant increases. If you forgot to take one ‘active’ pill, take two pills as soon as you remember then return to your schedule. If you miss two ‘active’ pills in a row in first or second week of treatment, take two pills a day for two days in a row. Then return to your schedule. Use birth control test during seven days if such a ‘mistake’ occurred. If you miss two ‘active’ pills in a row during third week, or if you miss three pills in a row during any of the first three weeks, you need to start a new pack of pills as if you are a First Day starter.
If you did not take three ‘active’ pills in a row during any of the first three weeks, start a new pack on the same day as if you are a First Day starter.
If you skipped intake of two or more pills, you may not have  monthlies during this month. If you miss a period for two months in a row, you might be pregnant.
If you miss any reminder pills, throw the missed pills away and return to your schedule.

Overdose

Signs of overdose include nausea and vomiting, vaginal bleeding, increased level of blood potassium. If you suspect overdose contact your health care provider the soonest or seek immediate medical attention.

Storage

Store at room temperature, below 25 C (77 F) and out of reach and children and pets.

INDICATIONS

Xeloda (capecitabine) is a cancer medication that interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows their spread in the body.
It is used to treat breast cancer and colon or rectum cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.
Xeloda may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.

INSTRUCTIONS 

Take Xeloda exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take it in larger amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.

Xeloda is usually given in a treatment cycle of 2 weeks on and 1 week off. This 3-week cycle is repeated up to 8 times (24 weeks). Your Xeloda dosage may be different. Follow your doctor’s instructions.

During the weeks when you take Xeloda, take the medication once in the morning and once in the evening, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. You may also be given other medications as part of a combination cancer treatment.

Xeloda should be taken with food or within 30 minutes after eating a meal. Take this medication with a full glass (8 ounces) of water.

To be sure this medication is not causing harmful effects, your blood may need to be tested on a regular basis. Your kidney and liver function may also need to be tested. Do not miss any follow-up visits. You must remain under the care of a doctor while you are taking Xeloda.

DOSAGE 

Use xeloda as directed by your doctor.

If you missed a dose take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to take the medicine and skip the missed dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

STORAGE 

Store Xeloda at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep it tightly closed when not in use.

Do NOT use Xeloda if:

You should not take Xeloda if you are allergic to capecitabine or fluorouracil (Adrucil), or if you have severe kidney disease or a metabolic disorder called DPD (dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase) deficiency. Do not use Xeloda if you are pregnant. It could harm the unborn baby. Use effective birth control while you are taking Xeloda, whether you are a man or a woman. Tell your doctor if a pregnancy occurs during treatment. You should not breast-feed while you are taking Xeloda.

Before you take Xeloda, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, a history of coronary artery disease, or if you are also taking folic acid (contained in many vitamin and mineral supplements), leucovorin (Wellcovorin), phenytoin (Dilantin), or a blood thinner (warfarin, Coumadin).

While taking Xeloda, you will need blood tests at your doctor’s office on a regular basis. Do not miss any appointments. You must remain under the care of a doctor while you are taking Xeloda.

Call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as severe vomiting or diarrhea, fever or flu symptoms, pain or redness of your hands or feet, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), chest pain, sudden numbness or weakness, or fainting. 

FDA pregnancy category D. Do not use Xeloda if you are pregnant. It could harm the unborn baby.

Use birth control to prevent pregnancy while you are taking Xeloda, whether you are a man or a woman. Tell your doctor if a pregnancy occurs during treatment.

It is not known whether capecitabine passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. You should not breast-feed while you are taking Xeloda. People over 80 years old may be more likely to have certain side effects from Xeloda.

Important safety information: 

Tell your doctor about all other medications you use, especially:

bosentan (Tracleer);

fluoxetine (Prozac);

fosphenytoin (Cerebyx);

montelukast (Singulair) or zafirlukast (Accolate);

rifampin (Rifater, Rifadin, Rifamate);

selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam, Zelapar);

voriconazole (Vfend);

cancer medication such as paclitaxel (Taxol) or tamoxifen (Soltamox);

heart or blood pressure medications such as amiodarone (Cordarone, Pacerone), carvedilol (Coreg), losartan (Hyzaar, Cozaar), or torsemide (Demadex);

type 2 diabetes medications such as glimepiride (Amaryl), glipizide (Glucotrol), nateglinide (Starlix), pioglitazone (Actos, Actoplus Met), repaglinide (Prandin), rosiglitazone (Avandia, Avandamet), or tolbutamide (Orinase); or

sulfa drugs (Bactrim, Gantanol, Gantrisin, Septra, SMX-TMP, and others).

This list is not complete and there may be other drugs that can interact with Xeloda. Tell your doctor about all your prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start a new medication without telling your doctor.

SIDE EFFECTS

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction to Xeloda: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

severe diarrhea (more than 4 times per day, or during the night);

vomiting (more than once in 24 hours);

nausea, loss of appetite, eating much less than usual;

weakness, feeling light-headed, hot or dry skin;

pain, tenderness, redness, swelling, blistering, or peeling skin on your hands or feet;

fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms;

swelling, white patches, or sores in your mouth or throat;

jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);

chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling;

sudden numbness, weakness, headache, confusion, or problems with vision, speech, or balance; or

slow heart rate, weak pulse, fainting, slow breathing (breathing may stop).

Less serious Xeloda side effects may include:

stomach pain or upset, constipation;

tired feeling;

temporary hair loss;

mild skin rash;

headache, dizziness;

altered sense of taste;

back pain, joint or muscle pain;

eye irritation.

INDICATIONS

V-Gel is useful when the following symptoms are displayed: vaginal candidiasis, vaginal trichomoniasis, non-specific bacterial vaginitis, prevention of post-operative vaginal infections; cervicitis; leukorrhea.

INSTRUCTIONS

Possible Side Effects

Pregnancy with more than 1 fetus (e.g., twins) is possible while you are taking Serophene . Be sure you have discussed the potential complications and hazards of multiple pregnancy;

SIDE EFFECTS

Stop taking serophene and seek emergency medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives).

The ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) has been reported to occur in patients receiving clomiphene. Symptoms of OHSS include swelling of the hands or legs, abdominal pain and swelling, shortness of breath, weight gain, and nausea or vomiting. OHSS can be fatal. Notify your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical attention if you develop any of these side effects.

Other side effects may also occur. Notify your doctor if you experience

ovarian enlargement presenting as abdominal or pelvic pain, tenderness, pressure, or swelling;

flushing;

nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea;

breast tenderness or discomfort;

blurred vision or other visual disturbances;

headache; or

abnormal uterine bleeding.

Serophene may increase the likelihood of multiple births. Multiple births may carry additional risk both for the mother and for the fetuses.

Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

They may include mental or mood changes, numbness or tingling of the skin, dizziness, confusion, headache, trouble sleeping, or unusual tiredness. You will be closely monitored when you start Sarafem and whenever a change in dose is made.

Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin), aspirin, or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (eg, ibuprofen) because the risk of bleeding, including stomach bleeding, may be increased
Diuretics (eg, furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide) because the risk of low blood sodium levels may be increased
Tramadol because the risk of seizures may be increased
Cyclobenzaprine or H1 antagonists (eg, astemizole, terfenadine) because severe heart problems, including irregular heartbeat, may occur
HIV protease inhibitors (eg, ritonavir) because they may increase the risk of Sarafem ‘s side effects
Cyproheptadine because it may decrease Sarafem ‘s effectiveness

Common use

Provera contains medroxyprogesterone acetate, female hormone used to regulate ovulation and menstrual periods. The medication is used to treat secondary amenorrhea and abnormal uterine bleeding caused by hormonal imbalance (fibroids, uterine cancer), to reduce the incidence of endometrial hyperplasia in postmenopausal women.

Dosage and direction

Take 5 or 10 mg of this medication daily for 5 -10 days. Take in strict accordance with recommendations of your doctor. Avoid taking larger amounts of the medication. Your doctor may administer to start taking the medication on a certain day of your menses. While you are on Provera, examine your breasts for lumps on a monthly basis. Provera may change results of certain medical tests. Inform your doctor that you are taking this drug.

Precautions

Do not smoke while taking Provera, unless risk of blood clotting increases. Inform your doctor about conditions you may have as dose adjustment may be required: hypertension, heart disease, recent stroke or heart attack, congestive heart failure, hypercalcinemia, high cholesterol or triglycerides, recent miscarriage or abortion, severe pelvic pain, asthma, migraine headaches, epilepsy, a thyroid disorder, diabetes, kidney disease, lupus, depression.

Contraindications

Do not take this medication if you have hypersensitivity to its components, pregnant, suffer with a hormone-related cancer of genitals or mammary gland, abnormal vaginal bleeding that has not been diagnosed, have liver disease, a history of stroke or blood clot, or breastfeed.

Side effects

The most frequent side effects of Provera are headache, dizziness, irritability, insomnia, drowsiness, fatigue, depression, nausea, abdominal pain, thrombophlebitis, cerebrovascular disorders, hypersensitivity nipple breast, galactorrhoea, erosion of the cervix, dysmenorrhea. High doses of the medication may produce acne, hirsutism, changes in body weight, moon face, hyperthermia, alopecia. Allergic reactions such as hives, rash, facial swelling and difficulty breathing are also possible.

Drug interaction

Aminoglutethimide reduces plasma concentrations and reduces efficiency of Provera. Inform your doctor about all prescribed and over-the-counter medications, herbal products, vitamins and food supplements you use.

Missed dose

Never take a double dose of this medication. If it is almost time of the next dose, just skip the missed portion and continue taking the medicine according to the schedule.

Overdose

Overdose symptoms may be: dizziness, drowsiness, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, or vaginal bleeding. Seek immediate medical help if you experience the symptoms listed above.

Storage

Store at room temperature between 20-25 C (68-77 F). Store away from moisture, heat, and sunlight. It is not recommended to store in a bathroom and places available for children.

Common use

Progesterone is a type of female hormone (progestin). This medication is similar to the progesterone that your body naturally makes and is given to replace the hormone when your body is not making enough of it. In women who are not pregnant and not going through menopause, this medication is used to restore normal menstrual periods that have stopped for several months (amenorrhea).
Progesterone is also used as part of combination hormone replacement therapy with estrogens to reduce menopause symptoms (e.g., hot flashes). Progesterone is added to estrogen replacement therapy to reduce the risk of cancer of the uterus.

Dosage and direction

Take this medication by mouth, usually once a day at bedtime or as directed by your doctor. If you have trouble swallowing the pills, take with a full glass of water while standing up. Follow the dosing schedule carefully. Ask your doctor if you have any questions. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy.

Precautions

Before taking progesterone, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to peanuts; or if you have any other allergies. Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have: history of blood clots, history of bleeding in the brain, liver disease, cancer of the breast or other female organs, vaginal bleeding of unknown cause, a loss of pregnancy with some tissue remaining in the uterus (“missed abortion”), recent stroke or heart attack (within 1 year). Contraindications

This medication may be used during pregnancy only as directed by your doctor. There is conflicting information about whether progestins may cause harm to an unborn baby. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
This drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Possible side effects

Nausea, bloating, breast tenderness, headache, change in vaginal discharge, mood swings, blurred vision, dizziness, or drowsiness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

Drug interaction

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: drugs affecting liver enzymes that remove progesterone from your body (such as rifampin, St. John’s wort, azole antifungals including itraconazole, certain anti-seizure medicines including carbamazepine/phenobarbital/phenytoin).

Missed dose

Common use

Premarin is a mixture of estrogen hormones which regulates development and functions of female reproductive system, formation of female secondary sex characteristics. On entering into the bloodstream it forms a complex with a specific receptor (in the fallopian tubes, cervix, excretory ducts of the mammary glands, vagina, urethra, breast, liver, hypothalamus, hypophisis), stimulates synthesis of DNA and proteins. It results in proliferation of the epithelium, increased sensitivity of the uterus and tubes muscles of to medications stimulating their motility. This medication decreases bone resorption of Ca2 + in menopause, prevents involution of the genitals. Premarin is used to treat symptoms of menopause which include hot flashes, vaginal dryness, vaginal irritation and dryness, to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. Replacement therapy in peri- and postmenopausal women, ovarian hypofunction (primary and secondary amenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, dysmenorrhea) and other conditions.

Dosage and direction

Take this medication once daily as prescribed with a full glass of water with or without food. Premarin may be administered for a cyclic treatment which consists of 25 days on followed by 5 days. Do not take in larger amounts than prescribed. Individual dosage depends on your condition (for hypogonadism 0.3 mg or 0.625 mg daily, for preventing postmenopausal osteoporosis is 0.3 mg/day). Try your best to take it regularly to get the best benefit from it. Do not take with grapefruit juice, it increases levels of estrogen.

Precautions

Long-term treatment with Premarin may increase risk of breast cancer, endometrial hyperplasia, heart attack, or stroke so monitoring of the patient’s state should be done on a regular basis. This medication can be harmful to an unborn baby, do not use it during pregnancy. Do not use Premarin to prevent hart disease or dementia. To avoid endometrial hyperplasia you may be prescribed to take a progestin together with Premarin. Do not use this drug if you are under 18 y.o..

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, estrogen depending malignant tumors, undiagnosed genital or uterine bleeding, thrombophlebitis or thromboembolic disease in active phase (excluding treatment of breast and prostate cancers). Cautiousness should be exercised in patients with thrombophlebitis, thrombosis or thromboembolism (while taking estrogens in history); family hyperlipoproteinemia, pancreatitis, endometriosis, gallbladder disease in history (especially cholelithiasis), severe liver failure, jaundice (including one during pregnancy in history), hepatic porphyria, leiomyoma, hypercalcemia associated with bone metastases caused by breast cancer, underactive thyroid, porphyria, endometriosis, asthma.

Possible side effect

You may experience symptoms of allergy (hives, rash, swelling face and tongue) and also chest pain or heavy feeling, sudden numbness or weakness, abnormal vaginal bleeding, migraine headache, confusion, jaundice, swelling in hands, ankles, or feet. If such symptoms are severe, stop taking this medication and notify your doctor at once.

Drug interaction

Estrogens stimulate the liver’s ability to produce factors that promote the clotting of blood. Thus, concomitant administration of Premarin and warfarin (blood thinner) may cause decrease their effects. Barbiturates, Rifampin (Rifadin), phenytoin (Dilantin), carbamazepine (Tegretol), griseofulvin (Grifulvin), St. John’s wort and primidone increase metabolism of estrogens. Erythromycin, ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), and ritonavir (Norvir) act oppositely.

Missed dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember about it. If it is almost time of your next dose just skip it and return to your regular schedule.

Overdose

Immediate medical attention in needed in case you overdosed intake of the medicine. Symptoms may include vomiting, nausea, and vaginal bleeding.

Storage

Premarin should be stored at room temperature, between 15-30 C (59-86 F). The right temperature to store the injection is between 2-8 C (36-46 F).

INDICATIONS 

Ponstel (Mefenamic Acid) is in a group of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Mefenamic acid works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.

Mefenamic acid is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by arthritis. It is also used to treat menstrual pain.

Mefenamic acid may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.

INSTRUCTIONS  

Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor. Follow the directions on your prescription label.

SAFETY INFORMATION

This medicine can increase your risk of life-threatening heart or circulation problems, including heart attack or stroke. Do not use this medicine just before or after having heart bypass surgery (also called coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).

Seek emergency medical help if you have symptoms of heart or circulation problems, such as chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, slurred speech, or problems with vision or balance.

This medicine can also increase your risk of serious effects on the stomach or intestines, including bleeding or perforation (forming of a hole). These conditions can be fatal and gastrointestinal effects can occur without warning at any time while you are taking mefenamic acid. Older adults may have an even greater risk of these serious gastrointestinal side effects.

Call your doctor at once if you have symptoms of bleeding in your stomach or intestines. This includes black, bloody, or tarry stools, or coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds.

Do not use any other over-the-counter cold, allergy, or pain medication without first asking your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not drink alcohol while taking mefenamic acid. Alcohol can increase the risk of stomach bleeding.

Important safety information: 

Tell your doctor if you are taking an antidepressant such as citalopram (Celexa), duloxetine (Cymbalta), escitalopram (Lexapro), fluoxetine (Prozac, Sarafem, Symbyax), fluvoxamine (Luvox), paroxetine (Paxil), sertraline (Zoloft), or venlafaxine (Effexor). Taking any of these drugs with mefenamic acid may cause you to bruise or bleed easily.

Before taking mefenamic acid, tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following drugs:

a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin);

a diuretic (water pill) such as furosemide (Lasix);

cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune);

lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid);

methotrexate (Rheumatrex, Trexall);

steroids (prednisone and others); or

aspirin or NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such as diclofenac (Voltaren), etodolac (Lodine), fenoprofen (Nalfon), flurbiprofen (Ansaid), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), indomethacin (Indocin), ketoprofen (Orudis), ketorolac (Toradol), meclofenamate (Meclomen), meloxicam (Mobic), nabumetone (Relafen), naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), piroxicam (Feldene), and others.

This list is not complete and there may be other drugs that can interact with mefenamic acid. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor.

SIDE EFFECTS

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Stop taking mefenamic acid and seek medical attention or call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, slurred speech, problems with vision or balance;

black, bloody, or tarry stools, coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds;

urinating less than usual or not at all;

pain, burning, or bleeding when you urinate;

nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);

fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash; or

bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness.

Less serious side effects may include:

upset stomach, mild heartburn or stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation; bloating, gas;

dizziness, headache, nervousness;

skin itching or rash;

dry mouth;

increased sweating, runny nose;

blurred vision; or

ringing in your ears.

Warnings/Precautions

Do not use Nolvadex if:

you are allergic to any ingredient in Nolvadex;
you are using Nolvadex to reduce your risk of breast cancer and you have a history of blood clots in the lung or leg;
you are using Nolvadex to reduce your risk of breast cancer and you also take certain anticoagulants (eg, warfarin);
you are taking anastrozole.
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Important :

Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
Nolvadex may reduce the number of clot-forming cells (platelets) in your blood. Avoid activities that may cause bruising or injury. Tell your doctor if you have unusual bruising or bleeding. Tell your doctor if you have dark, tarry, or bloody stools.
Nolvadex may lower the ability of your body to fight infection. Avoid contact with people who have colds or infections. Tell your doctor if you notice signs of infection like fever, sore throat, rash, or chills.
New tumors have occurred in body sites other than the uterus in patients taking Nolvadex . It is unknown if Nolvadex may be the cause. Discuss any questions or concerns with your doctor.
Women who take Nolvadex to reduce the risk of breast cancer should have a breast exam, mammogram, and gynecological exam before starting and during treatment with Nolvadex.
Women who may become pregnant should begin taking Nolvadex during a menstrual period. Women who have irregular menstrual periods should have a pregnancy test immediately before starting Nolvadex. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions about how to begin taking Nolvadex.
Women who may become pregnant must use effective nonhormonal birth control (eg, condoms, diaphragm) during sexual intercourse while they are taking Nolvadex and for 2 months after they stop taking it. Do not use hormonal birth control (eg, birth control pills); it may not work as well while you are taking Nolvadex. Discuss any questions about effective nonhormonal birth control with your doctor.
Nolvadex will not prevent you from becoming pregnant.

Common use

Mycelex-G (Clotrimazole) is an antifungal medication. It prevents fungus from growing.

Clotrimazole vaginal is used to treat vaginal candida (yeast) infections.

INSTRUCTIONS

Use Mycelex-G exactly as directed by your doctor, or follow the directions that accompany the package. If you do not understand these instructions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.

Wash your hands before and after using this medication.

Insert the tablet, suppository, or cream into the vagina using the applicator as directed.

Use this medication continuously for the prescribed amount of time, even during your menstrual period.

You can use a sanitary napkin to prevent the medication from staining your clothing but do not use a tampon.

If the infection does not clear up after you have finished one course of therapy, or if it appears to get worse, see your doctor. You may have another type of infection.

STORAGE

Avoid getting this medication in your eyes, nose, or mouth. Store clotrimazole vaginal at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

SAFETY INFORMATION

Do not use clotrimazole vaginal if you have ever had an allergic reaction to it.

If this is the first time that you have ever had symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection, consult your doctor before using this medication.

Do not use clotrimazole vaginal if you have a fever, abdominal pain, foul-smelling discharge, diabetes, HIV, or AIDS. Consult your doctor.
Do not use this medication without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant. Do not use clotrimazole vaginal without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Do not use this medication if you are younger than 12 years of age.

Important safety information

Use this medication for the full amount of time prescribed by your doctor or recommended in the package even if you begin to feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely healed.

Avoid wearing tight-fitting, synthetic clothing (e.g., panty hose) that does not allow air circulation. Wear loose-fitting clothing made of cotton and other natural fibers until the infection is healed.
Avoid getting this medication in your eyes, nose, or mouth.

SIDE EFFECTS

Stop using clotrimazole vaginal and seek emergency medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction (shortness of breath; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, face, or tongue; or hives).

Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. These include burning, itching, irritation of the skin, and an increased need to urinate.

Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

Important info:

Avoid using other vaginal creams or douches at the same time as clotrimazole unless your doctor approves.

Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with clotrimazole vaginal. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over the counter medicines.

Common use

Mircette is a combination of female hormones such as desogestrel/ethinyl estradiol and ethinyl estradiol used to prevent ovulation. This contraception medication changes condition of cervical mucus and uterine lining and hampers movement of sperm cells to the uterus and attachment of a fertilized egg to the uterus.

Dosage and direction

Follow all recommendations of your health care advisor. Take the first on the first day of your menses or on the first Sunday after your period started. If you use Mircette for the firs time you may need additional birth control means. There are 28-day birth control packs with seven ‘reminder’ pills for the regular cycle. While you are using ‘reminder’ pills the period usually begins. Breakthrough bleeding is possible, if it becomes heavy and continuous, inform your doctor. Take each pill each day about the same time. When your pill pack is over start a new one. In case of needed medical tests or surgery, it is possible that you may need to stop using Mircette for a short period of time.

Precautions

Additional birth control methods (condoms or a spermicide) may be needed when you start to use Mircette.
Intake of hormones may increase the risk of blood clotting, heart attack, stroke, especially in the patients over 35 y.o. or smokers. Inform your doctor if you have problems with heart, blood pressure, congestive heart failure, angina, high cholesterol, depression in history, seizures or epilepsy, diabetes, gallbladder disease, varicose veins, tuberculosis, uterine fibroid tumors, a history of fibrocystic breast disease, nodules, lumps.

Contraindications

This medication cannot be used in pregnant women or those just after delivery, in patients with a stroke or blood clot in history, circulation problems, vaginal bleeding, hormone-related cancer, liver disease or liver cancer, circulation problems, abnormal vaginal bleeding, migraine headaches, a heart valve disorder, severe high blood pressure, jaundice caused by birth control pills in history.

Side effects

Besides allergic symptoms (hives, skin rash, facial swelling, difficulty breathing) this medication may be a reason of sudden numbness or weakness, pain behind the eyes, problems with vision, headache, confusion, speech, or balance, a change in the pattern or severity of migraine headaches, chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling, swelling of the extremities, depression, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach pain, dark urine, jaundice.

Drug interaction

There are drugs which can interact with Mircette. Inform your doctor about all prescribed and over-the counter medications, herbal products and food supplements you use and especially about theophylline (Respbid, Theo-Dur), acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ascorbic acid (vitamin C), prednisolone (Orapred), St. John’s wort, seizure medications, cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune), a barbiturate sedatives, HIV or AIDS medications, and antibiotics.

Missed dose

If you missed a pill, risk of becoming pregnant increases. If you forgot to take one ‘active’ pill, take two pills as soon as you remember then return to your schedule. If you miss two ‘active’ pills in a row in first or second week of treatment, take two pills a day for two days in a row. Then return to your schedule. Use birth control test during seven days if such a ‘mistake’ occurred. If you miss two ‘active’ pills in a row during third week, or if you miss three pills in a row during any of the first three weeks, you need to start a new pack of pills as if you are a First Day starter.
If you did not take three ‘active’ pills in a row during any of the first three weeks, start a new pack on the same day as if you are a First Day starter.
If you skipped intake of two or more pills, you may not have  monthlies during this month. If you miss a period for two months in a row, you might be pregnant.
If you miss any reminder pills, throw the missed pills away and return to your schedule.

Overdose

The most expected overdose symptoms of this medication are vomiting, nausea, and vaginal bleeding.

Storage

Store at room temperature between 20-25 C (68-77 F). Store away from moisture, heat, and sunlight. It is not recommended to store in a bathroom and places available for children.

Common use

Lumigan reduces pressure in the eye by increasing the amount of fluid that drains from the eye.

Dosage and direction

Use exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Bimatoprost ophthalmic is usually given as 1 drop in each affected eye once daily, in the evening. Follow the directions on your prescription label.

To apply the eye drops:
Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the dropper above the eye with the tip down. Look up and away from the dropper as you squeeze out a drop, then close your eye.
Use only the number of drops prescribed by your doctor.
Gently press your finger to the inside corner of the eye (near your nose) for about 1 minute to keep the liquid from draining into your tear duct.
Also wait at least 5 minutes before using any other eye drops that your doctor has prescribed.

Precautions

You should not use this medication if you are allergic to bimatoprost.

Before using bimatoprost, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have swelling or infection of your eye.

Do not use this medication while wearing contact lenses. Bimatoprost ophthalmic may contain a preservative that can discolor soft contact lenses. Wait at least 15 minutes after using bimatoprost before putting in your contact lenses.

Lumigan may cause a gradual change in the color of your eyes or eyelids and lashes, as well as increased growth or thickness of your eyelashes. These color changes, usually an increase in brown pigment, occur slowly and you may not notice them for months or years. Color changes may be permanent even after your treatment ends, and may occur only in the eye being treated. This could result in a cosmetic difference in eye or eyelash color from one eye to the other.

Do not allow the tip of the dropper to touch any surface, including your eyes or hands. If the dropper becomes contaminated it could cause an infection in your eye, which can lead to vision loss or serious damage to the eye.

FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether bimatoprost ophthalmic will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medication.

It is not known whether bimatoprost ophthalmic passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Contraindication

At any time during your use of bimatoprost ophthalmic, tell your doctor at once if you have an eye injury, if you develop an eye infection, or if you plan to have eye surgery.

Do not use other eye medications during treatment with bimatoprost ophthalmic unless your doctor tells you to.

Possible side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Stop using bimatoprost ophthalmic and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:
redness, swelling, itching, or pain in or around your eye;
oozing or discharge from your eye;
increased sensitivity to light;
vision changes.

Less serious side effects may include:
mild eye discomfort;
dizziness;
feeling like something is in your eye;
dry or watery eyes; or
stinging or burning of the eyes after using the drops.

Drug interaction

It is not likely that other drugs you take orally or inject will have an effect on bimatoprost used in the eyes. But many drugs can interact with each other. Tell your doctor about all medicines you use.

Missed dose

Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical attention.

Storage 

Store at 2°-25°C (36°-77°F).

INDICATIONS

Levothroid is indicated for the treatment of hypothyroidism as a replacement or supplemental therapy in congenital or acquired hypothyroidism of any etiology, except transient hypothyroidism during the recovery phase of subacute thyroiditis.

Specific indications include: primary (thyroidal), secondary (pituitary), and tertiary (hypothalamic) hypothyroidism and subclinical hypothyroidism. Primary hypothyroidism may result from functional deficiency, primary atrophy, partial or total congenital absence of the thyroid gland, or from the effects of surgery, radiation, or drugs, or without the presence of goiter.

INSTRUCTIONS 

Use Levothroid as directed by your doctor.

• Take Levothroid by mouth on an empty stomach at least one-half to one hour before breakfast.
• Do not take an antacid or a product that has iron or calcium in it within 4 hours of taking Levothroid.
• If the patient is a child or if you cannot swallow the tablet whole, you may crush the correct dose of the medicine. Add the crushed medicine to 1 to 2 teaspoons (5 to 10 mL) of water. Mix well. Use a spoon or dropper to give the medicine as soon as possible. Do not store the mixture for later use. Do not mix crushed tablets in soybean infant formula. Ask your pharmacist if you have any questions.
• Levothroid works best if it is taken at the same time each day.
• Continue to take Levothroid even if you feel well. Do not miss any dose.
• It may take several weeks before you notice an improvement in your symptoms. Do not stop or change your dose of Levothroid without first checking with your doctor.
• If you miss a dose of Levothroid, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Levothroid.

STORAGE

Store Levothroid between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Brief storage at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. Protect from heat, light, and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Levothroid out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Important safety information:

• It is important to take Levothroid exactly as prescribed. Do not take more than the prescribed dose without checking with your doctor.
• Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Levothroid before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
• Diabetes patients – Levothroid may affect your blood sugar. Check blood sugar levels closely. Ask your doctor before you change the dose of your diabetes medicine.
• Foods that contain soybean flour (including infant formula), cottonseed meal, walnuts, or dietary fiber may decrease the absorption of Levothroid. Tell your doctor if your diet includes any of these foods. Your doctor may need to change your dose of Levothroid.
• Mild hair loss may rarely occur during the first few months of treatment with Levothroid. This is usually temporary. Contact your doctor if hair loss is severe or persistent.
• Lab tests, including thyroid hormone level and growth checks, may be performed while you use Levothroid. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
• Use Levothroid with caution in the elderly; they may be more sensitive to its effects, especially heart problems.
• Children and teenagers may need regular growth checks while they take Levothroid.
• Pregnancy and breast-feeding: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. Your doctor may need to change your dose of Levothroid. Levothroid is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Levothroid, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; flushing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; unusual hoarseness); changes in appetite; changes in menstrual periods; chest pain; diarrhea; excessive sweating; fast or irregular heartbeat; fever; heat intolerance; joint pain; leg cramps; mental or mood changes (eg, anxiety, irritability, nervousness); muscle weakness; seizures; severe or persistent headache or fatigue; shortness of breath; stomach cramps; tremors; trouble sleeping; unusual weight gain or weight loss; vomiting; wheezing.

Levlen is used for preventing pregnancy. Levlen is a combination birth control pill. It works by preventing ovulation, altering the cervical mucus, and changing the lining of the uterus.

INSTRUCTIONS

Use Levlen as directed by your doctor.
Take Levlen by mouth with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, take with food to reduce stomach irritation.
Begin taking Levlen on the first Sunday following the start of your period, unless otherwise directed by your doctor. If your period begins on a Sunday, begin taking Levlen on that day. Try to take Levlen at the same time every day, not more than 24 hours apart. After taking the last pill in the pack, start taking the first pill from a new pack the very next day.
For Levlen to be effective it must be taken every day. Do not skip doses.
If you miss a dose of Levlen and remember it on the same day, take it as soon as possible and go back to your regular dosing schedule. If you do not remember until the next day or if you miss more than 1 dose of Levlen, contact your doctor for further instructions. You may need to use an extra form of birth control (eg, condoms). If you are not sure about how to handle missed doses of Levlen, use an extra form of birth control (eg, condoms) until you talk with your doctor.

Atorvastatin, indinavir, or troleandomycin because they may increase the risk of Levlen’s side effects
Aprepitant, azole antifungals (eg, itraconazole, ketoconazole), barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital), bosentan, carbamazepine, dexamethasone, felbamate, griseofulvin, HIV protease inhibitors (eg, ritonavir), hydantoins (eg, phenytoin), modafinil, nevirapine, oxcarbazepine, penicillins (eg, amoxicillin), phenylbutazone, primidone, rifabutin, rifampin, St. John’s wort, tetracyclines (eg, doxycycline), topiramate, or troglitazone because they may decrease Levlen’s effectiveness, resulting in breakthrough bleeding or pregnancy
Beta-blockers (eg, propranolol), corticosteroids (eg, prednisolone), cyclosporine, or theophylline because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Levlen
Clofibric acid, lamotrigine, morphine, salicylic acid, or temazepam because their effectiveness may be decreased by Levlen.

This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Levlen may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

Important safety information:

Levlen may cause dizziness. This effect may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Levlen with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
Follow your doctor’s instructions for examining your own breasts, and report any lumps immediately.
If you will be having surgery or will be confined to a bed or chair for a long period of time (such as a long plane flight), notify your doctor 3 to 4 weeks ahead of time. Special precautions may need to be taken in these circumstances while taking Levlen.
You should usually not take Levlen within 4 weeks after giving birth or otherwise ending a pregnancy. Discuss any questions or concerns with your doctor.
Levlen may cause dark skin patches on your face. Exposure to the sun may make these patches darker. If patches develop, use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing when exposed to the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths.
Use of Levlen will not protect against HIV infection or prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
Bleeding or spotting may occur while taking Levlen. Do not stop taking Levlen if this occurs. If bleeding or spotting continues for more than 7 days or is heavy, contact your doctor.
Smoking while using Levlen may increase your risk of stroke, heart attack, blood clots, high blood pressure, or other diseases of the heart and blood vessels.
Levlen may interfere with certain lab tests. Be sure your doctor and lab personnel know you are using Levlen.
Taking certain antibiotics, anticonvulsants, or other medicines, as listed in the interactions section, while you are using Levlen may decrease the effectiveness of Levlen. To prevent pregnancy, use an extra form of birth control (eg, condoms) until your next period.
If you wear contact lenses and you develop problems with them, contact your doctor.
If you miss your period during the week of inactive pills, call your doctor immediately. A missed period may indicate that you are pregnant.
Levlen may take time to wear off after your last dose. You may not be able to become pregnant for several months after stopping Levlen.Discuss any concerns with your doctor or pharmacist.
Lab tests, such as PAP tests, may be performed while you use Levlen. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
Levlen should not be used in children who have not had their first menstrual period; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Do not use Levlen if you are pregnant. Avoid becoming pregnant while you are taking it. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor right away. Levlen is found in breast milk. Do not breastfeed while taking Levlen.

Side effects

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects.

Check with your doctor if any of these most common side effects persist or become bothersome:

Acne; breast tenderness or enlargement; changes in appetite; changes in sexual interest; changes in weight; dizziness; hair loss; headache; nausea; stomach cramps or bloating; unusual spotting or bleeding; vomiting.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these severe side effects occur:

INDICATIONS

Lady era represents a serious approach to the problem of female sexual arousal disorder (FSAD) and female sexual dysfunction (FSD), formulated scientifically to provide satisfaction in terms of sexual needs and lasting pleasure.

INSTRUCTIONS

Lady era is an oral prescription; this drug starts working after 45 minutes after its intake. The effect usually lasts up to 4 to 6 hours. Exceeding its recommended dosage may increase its side effects.

DOSAGE

INDICATIONS

Ginette-35 is used for oral contraception in women who require anti-androgen therapy. Cyproterone acetate may be used in conjunction with ethinyl oestradiol for the control of idiopathic hirsutism.
For the treatment of severe acne, especially androgen-dependent acne accompanied by inflammation, seborrhoea or the formation of nodes.

INSTRUCTIONS

Before commencing with Ginette-35, an appropriate medical (including gynaecological) examination should be done and the patient’s medical history carefully evaluated. Regular medical examinations are recommended during use. Pregnancy should be excluded.
Disorders of the clotting system and family history of thrombo-embolic diseases, especially at a young age, should be excluded.
Androgen-producing tumours or an adrenal enzyme defect should be ruled out before prescribing Ginette-35 for the treatment of hirsutism.
Additional contraceptive precautions should be taken for the first 14 days of the first cycle or if a tablet is accidentally missed.
Spotting may occur but will usually stop spontaneously.
The patient is advised to consult her doctor if prolonged and persistent bleeding occurs.
The tablet should be taken roughly at the same time every day, not exceeding 24 hours, for maximum effectiveness. The tablet may be taken with a meal to reduce nausea.
Missed doses: Take as soon as possible, that is within the next 12 hours at the latest, but not when it is nearly time for the next dose. Do not double doses. Take the next tablet at the usual time to prevent withdrawal bleeding. Additional non-hormonal contraceptive precaution should be taken.
In the case of diarrhoea or vomiting, additional non-hormonal contraception should be employed in order to prevent pregnancy.
First cycle: The patient should take the first tablet on the first day of the cycle (the first day of the cycle being the first day of the menstrual bleeding). Thereafter, one tablet should be taken daily, following the sequence of the arrows, at the same time, until all the tablets have been taken. The first tablet should be taken from the silver section (of the calender pack), commencing with the appropriate day as indicated on the strip.
Subsequent cycles: A new pack should be started the very next day after completing the previous pack, once again starting from the appropriate day within the silver section of the strip. This method should be followed as long as the contraception is desired.
For the treatment of androgen-dependent acne: Dosage as for contraception.

SAFETY INFORMATION

Woman who use oral contraceptives should be strongly advised not to smoke. Smoking increases the risk of myocardial infarction.
Women smoking more than 15 cigarettes per day have at least a 20% increased risk of serious cardiovascular side-effects. This risk also increases with age and is quite marked in women over 35 years of age.
Not to be used in children and men.

Do not use if: 

Oral contraceptives must not be used during known or suspected pregnancy as it may cause severe harm to the foetus.
A combination oral contraceptive should not be prescribed after a recent evacuation of a hydatidiform mole until urine and plasma gonadotropin concentrations have returned to normal.
Lactation.
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
Known or suspected breast cancer.
Patients with liver diseases or malignant or wasting diseases.
It should not be given to patients with a history of thrombo-embolic disorders. This may include myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, venous thrombosis and stroke.
Contra-indicated in patients with severe chronic depression and sickle-cell anaemia.
Oral contraceptives are contra-indicated in patients with oestrogen-dependent neoplasms, functional ovarian cysts, the Dubin-Johnson or Rotor syndromes, disorders of lipid metabolism, markedly impaired liver function, cerebrovascular insufficiency, coronary artery disease, thrombophlebitis, deteriorating otosclerosis, a history of pruritus during previous pregnancy, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, herpes, recurrent cholestatic jaundice or porphyria.
Patients with classical migraine should not use a combination oral contraceptive.
Relative contra-indications (these patient would require medical supervision):
Diabetes mellitus, tetany, hypertension, epilepsy, chorea, multiple sclerosis, renal dysfunction, asthma, mental depression, varicose veins, cardiac dysfunction, gallbladder disease, patients who wear contact lenses and obese patients, or other conditions influenced by fluid retention. The risk benefits should be considered in patients with endometriosis and uterine fibroids. It is advised that the use of Ginette-35 be discontinued if any of the following symptoms occur:

• The onset of migraine or severe headache in a new patient. 
• When there is a gradual or sudden loss of vision or hearing. 
• At the first signs of thrombo-embolic disorders, e.g. pulmonary embolism, cerebrovascular insufficiency, thrombophlebitis, cerebral haemorrhage, retinal thrombosis, coronary or mesenteric thrombosis. 
• Surgery or prolonged bed rest as this may increase the risk of thrombo-embolic episodes. It is recommended that oral contraceptives be discontinued 4 to 6 weeks before major surgery. 
• The product should be discontinued if persistent upper abdominal pain, hepatitis or jaundice develops. 
• If the blood pressure rises markedly the product should be discontinued. 
• Pregnancy. 

SIDE EFFECTS

The following side-effects may occur:

• Breast changes including tenderness, enlargement and secretion.
• Changes in menstrual flow (spotting, breakthrough bleeding, amenorrhoea) temporary intermenstrual bleeding, changes in libido, depressive moods, abdominal cramping or bloating and dizziness may occur.
• Nausea, vomiting, headaches, chloasma, skin pigmentation, vaginal candidiasis, gastro-intestinal irritation, mass gain and peripheral oedema. 
• Alterations in hair pattern, skin reactions and anaemia have been reported.
•  Gallbladder obstruction, or hepatitis may occur. 
• In women using combined oral contraceptives the incidence of circulatory system diseases is significantly higher than those of controls, and the mortality is slightly increased.
• Cerebrovascular accidents, coronary thrombosis and venous thrombosis are more likely to occur in women over 35 years of age, particularly if they have used contraceptives for 5 years or longer or are cigarette smokers. The incidence is also increased in women who are obese, or if they suffer from hypertension. 
• The incidence of circulatory system diseases is also higher in women suffering from diabetes, hypercholesterolaemia and familial hyperlipoproteinaemia. Thrombosis may be more common in women with blood groups A, B or AB. 
  Hypertension may occur. Regular blood pressure checks, including a pre-treatment check, are advised. There may be changes in carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.
• Liver functions may be impaired. There appear to be an increased incidence of benign liver tumours. 
• Malignant liver tumours have also been reported. In cases of severe upper abdominal pain, liver enlargement or intra-abdominal haemorrhage, a liver tumour should be excluded. 
• An increased risk of cervical cancer is reported although other factors may be involved. Intolerance to contact lenses has been reported and vision may deteriorate in myopic patients. 
• Prolonged amenorrhoea following the use of oral contraceptives may occur. The incidence is in the order of 1% of users. Where oligomenorrhoea or amenorrhoea have occurred in the past, caution is advised.

INDICATIONS

Fosamax is in the group of medicines called bisphosphonates (bis FOS fo nayts). It alters the cycle of bone formation and breakdown in the body. Fosamax slows bone loss while increasing bone mass, which may prevent bone fractures.

INSTRUCTIONS

Take Fosamax exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.

Fosamax tablets are taken either once each day or once each week.

Take the Fosamax tablet first thing in the morning, at least 30 minutes before you eat or drink anything or take any other medicine. If you take a Fosamax tablet only once a week, take it on the same day each week and always first thing in the morning.

Take each Fosamax tablet with a full glass (6 to 8 ounces) of water. Use only plain water (not mineral water) when taking a tablet. Do not crush, chew, or suck the Fosamax tablet. Swallow the pill whole.

After taking a Fosamax tablet, carefully follow these instructions:
Do not lie down or recline for at least 30 minutes after taking Fosamax.
Do not eat or drink anything other than plain water.
Do not take any other medicines including vitamins, calcium, or antacids for at least 30 minutes after taking Fosamax. It may be best to take your other medicines at a different time of the day. Talk with your doctor about the best dosing schedule for your other medicines.

To be sure Fosamax is helping your condition, your bone mineral density will need to be tested on a regular basis. Visit your doctor regularly.

If you need to have any dental work (especially surgery), tell the dentist ahead of time that you are using this medicine. You may need to stop using the medicine for a short time.

Fosamax is only part of a complete program of treatment that may also include diet changes, exercise, and taking calcium and vitamin supplements. Follow your diet, medication, and exercise routines very closely.

If you take Fosamax tablets once daily: If you forget to take this medicine first thing in the morning, do not take it later in the day. Wait until the following morning to take the medicine and skip the missed dose. Do not take two (2) tablets in one day.

If you take Fosamax tablets once a week: If you forget to take Fosamax on your scheduled day, take it first thing in the morning on the day after you remember the missed dose. Then return to your regular weekly schedule on your chosen dose day. Do not take two (2) tablets in one day.

DOSAGE

Treatment of Osteoporosis in Postmenopausal Women

The recommended dosage is:
one 70 mg tablet once weekly 
one bottle of 70 mg oral solution once weekly 
one 10 mg tablet once daily

Prevention of Osteoporosis in Postmenopausal Women

The recommended dosage is:
one 35 mg tablet once weekly 
one 5 mg tablet once daily

Treatment to Increase Bone Mass in Men with Osteoporosis

The recommended dosage is:

SAFETY INFORMATION

Do not take a Fosamax tablet if you cannot sit upright or stand for at least 30 minutes. Fosamax can cause serious problems in the stomach or esophagus (the tube that connects your mouth and stomach). You will need to stay upright for at least 30 minutes after taking this medication.

You should not take Fosamax if you are allergic to alendronate, or if you have low levels of calcium in your blood (hypocalcemia), or a problem with the movement of muscles in your esophagus.

To make sure you can safely take Fosamax, tell your doctor if you have any of these other conditions:

• trouble swallowing;
• a vitamin D deficiency;
• a dental problem;
• kidney disease; or
• an ulcer or other problem in your stomach or esophagus.

Some people using medicines similar to Fosamax have developed bone loss in the jaw, also called osteonecrosis of the jaw. Symptoms may include jaw pain, swelling, numbness, loose teeth, gum infection, or slow healing after injury or surgery involving the gums.

You may be more likely to develop osteonecrosis of the jaw if you have cancer or have been treated with chemotherapy, radiation, or steroids. Other conditions associated with osteonecrosis of the jaw include blood clotting disorders, anemia (low red blood cells), and dental surgery or pre-existing dental problems.

Talk with your doctor about the risks and benefits of using Fosamax.

FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether Fosamax will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medication. It is not known whether alendronate passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not use Fosamax without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

SIDE EFFECTS

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction to Fosamax: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using Fosamax and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

• chest pain;
• difficulty or pain when swallowing;
• pain or burning under the ribs or in the back;
• severe heartburn, burning pain in your upper stomach, or coughing up blood;
• new or worsening heartburn;
• fever, body aches, flu symptoms;
• severe joint, bone, or muscle pain;
• new or unusual pain in your thigh or hip;
• jaw pain, numbness, or swelling.

Less serious Fosamax side effects may include:

• mild joint pain or swelling;
• swelling in your hands or feet; or

Dosage and direction

The recommended dose for treating depression in adults is 20-80 mg of Fluoxetine daily.

The recommended dose for treating bulimia is 60 mg of Fluoxetine daily. Duration of treatment may be about 52 weeks.
The recommended dose for treating obsessive-compulsive disorder in adults and children is 20-60 mg daily.
The recommended dose for treating panic disorder is 10-60 mg daily.
The recommended dose for treating resistant depression is 20-50 mg of Fluoxetine once daily in the evening.

Precautions
Use with caution if your medical history include kidney disease, liver problems, seizures, diabetes, heart problems, any allergies from taking this medicine. Possible side effect

severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash;
very stiff muscles, high fever, sweating, fast or uneven heartbeats, tremors, overactive reflexes;
nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, feeling unsteady, loss of coordination;
headache, trouble concentrating, memory problems, weakness, confusion, hallucinations, fainting, seizure, shallow breathing or breathing that stops.
Less serious include:
cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat;
drowsiness, dizziness, feeling nervous;
mild nausea, upset stomach, constipation;
increased appetite, weight changes;
sleep problems;
decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm;
dry mouth.
If you experience one of them stop using Fluoxetine and tell your doctor as soon as possible. Also consult your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual.

Drug interaction

Fluoxetine may interact with the following drugs: alprazolam; clozapine; flecainide; haloperidol; seizure medication such as phenytoin or carbamazepine; tryptophan; vinblastine; a blood thinner such as warfarin; almotriptan, frovatriptan, sumatriptan, naratriptan, rizatriptan, or zolmitriptan; or any other antidepressants such as amitriptyline, escitalopram, imipramine, sertraline, and others. Consult your doctor before taking any medicine for arthritis, pain, fever, or swelling. This includes aspirin and NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, indomethacin, piroxicam, nabumetone, etodolac, and others. Taking any of these medications with fluoxetine may cause you to bruise or bleed easily. Also note that interaction between two medications does not always mean that you must stop taking one of them. Usually it affects the the effect of drugs, so consult your doctor about the way these interactions are being managed or should be managed.

Missed dose

If you forgot to take your dose in time, please do it as soon as you remember. But do not take if it is too late or almost time for your next dose. Do not increase your recommended dose. Take your usual dose next day in the same regular time.

Overdose

Symptoms of Fluoxetine overdose may include vomiting, nausea, fever, rapid or uneven heartbeat, sleepiness, confusion, seizures, fainting, or coma. If you experience one of them or any unusual symptoms call your doctor immediately.

What should I watch for while taking this medicine?

If you are being treated for a sexually transmitted disease, avoid sexual contact until you have finished your treatment. Your sexual partner may also need treatment.

Use Fertomid as directed by your Health provider.

Do not use Female Cialis if you are allergic to any ingredient; you have been advised by your doctor to avoid sexual activity because of heart problems; you use certain recreational drugs called “poppers” (e.g., amyl nitrate, butyl nitrate); you are taking nitrates (e.g., isosorbide, nitroglycerin) in any form (e.g., tablet, capsule, patch, ointment) or nitroprusside.

Missed dose

Common use

Evista is a medication which is used to help prevent and treat thinning of the bones (osteoporosis) only in post-menopausal women. Evista stops the bone loss that can develop in women after menopause and decreases the risk of invasive breast cancer by blocking estrogen in breast and uterine tissue. It is also used to reduce the risk of invasive breast cancer in post-menopausal women who have osteoporosis or who are at risk of invasive breast cancer.

Dosage and direction

Take it orally with or without food/milk once daily.
Commonly dose for adults is 60 mg a day. For best result use this drug with Calcium and/or Vitamin D.

Precautions

Try to avoid sitting still for long periods of time; particularly during travel. You may stop taking this medication up to 3 days prior to undergoing surgery or bed rest. Anyone treating your or performing surgery should know that you are taking Evista. Do not use Evista if you have a history of blood clots. Evista should not be used during pregnancy (becoming pregnant) or when lactating without doctor’s advice. Do not use before breast-feeding without doctor’s advice.

Contraindications

Evista is not allowed in people with active or past history of venous thromboembolism, including deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and retinal vein thrombosis.

Possible side effect

They may include all types of an allergic reaction. Also the most possible side effects include:
sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body;
sudden headache, confusion, problems with vision, speech, or balance;
chest pain, sudden cough, wheezing, rapid breathing, fast heart rate;
pain or swelling in one or both legs;
swelling in your hands or feet;
fever, chills, sore throat, body aches, flu symptoms;
unusual vaginal bleeding;
breast pain, tenderness, or lump;
pain or burning when you urinate;
severe pain in your lower back.
Less serious include:
hot flashes;
headache, dizziness, spinning sensation;
leg pain;
joint pain;
increased sweating;
nausea, vomiting, stomach pain;
runny or stuffy nose.
If you experience one of them stop using Evista and tell your doctor as soon as possible. Also consult your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual.

Drug interaction

Evista interacts with the following medications: a blood thinner such as warfarin; cholestyramine; diazepam; diazoxide; birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy. Also note that interaction between two medications does not always mean that you must stop taking one of them. As usual it affects  the effect of drugs, so consult your doctor about the way these interactions are being managed or should be managed.

Missed dose

If you forgot to take your dose in time, please do it as soon as you remember. But do not take if it is too late or almost time for your next dose. Do not increase your recommended dose. Take your usual dose next day in the same regular time.

Overdose

Symptoms of Evista overdose include: leg cramps and dizziness. If you experience one of them or any unusual symptoms call your doctor immediately.

Storage

Store at room temperature between 59-77 degrees F (15-25 degrees C) away from light and moisture, kids and pets. Do not use after expiration term.

INDICATIONS

Common use

Etodolac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. NSAIDs treat the symptoms of pain and inflammation. They do not treat the disease that causes those symptoms.
Etodolac is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by arthritis or osteoarthritis. It also reduces pain, swelling, and joint stiffness from arthritis.

Dosage and direction

Take this medication by mouth with a full glass of water (8 ounces or 240 milliliters) unless your doctor directs you otherwise. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking this drug. If stomach upset occurs while taking this medication, take it with food, milk, or an antacid.

Precautions

Before taking Etodolac, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen, celecoxib); or if you have any other allergies. Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist that you are taking this medication. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, liver disease, poorly controlled diabetes, stomach/intestine/esophagus problems (e.g., bleeding, ulcers, recurring heartburn), heart disease (e.g., congestive heart failure, history of heart attack), stroke, high blood pressure, swelling (edema, fluid retention), dehydration, blood disorders (e.g., anemia), bleeding or clotting problems, asthma, growths in the nose (nasal polyps).

Contraindications

This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Taking Etodolac during the last 3 months of pregnancy may harm the unborn baby. Do not use any other over-the-counter cold, allergy, or pain medication without first asking your doctor or pharmacist. Do not drink alcohol while taking Etodolac. Do not use this medicine just before or after having heart bypass surgery (also called coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).

Possible side effects

Stop taking Etodolac and seek medical attention or call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:
chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, slurred speech, problems with vision or balance;
black, bloody, or tarry stools;
coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds;
swelling or rapid weight gain;
urinating less than usual or not at all;
nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash;
bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness; or
fever, headache, neck stiffness, chills, increased sensitivity to light, purple spots on the skin, and/or seizure (convulsions).
Less serious Etodolac side effects may include:
upset stomach, mild heartburn or stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation;
bloating, gas;
dizziness, headache, nervousness;
skin itching or rash;
sore throat, stuffy nose;
blurred vision; or
ringing in your ears.

Drug interaction

This drug should not be used with the following medications because very serious interactions may occur: cidofovir, ketorolac.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: anti-platelet drugs, oral bisphosphonates, “blood thinners”, corticosteroids, cyclosporine, desmopressin, digoxin, high blood pressure drugs, lithium, methotrexate, pemetrexed, probenecid, SSRI anti-depressants, “water pills” (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene).

Missed dose

If you are prescribed this drug on a regular schedule (not just “as needed”) and you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. Overdose symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, drowsiness, black or bloody stools, coughing up blood, shallow breathing, fainting, or coma.

Storage

Store the product at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C).
Store the medication away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
